Ayurveda, the science of life is a holistic healing system which is originated in India, around 5000 years ago.
The name is derived from two Sanskirt words: Ayur - life and Veda - knowledge/science. Thus Ayurveda is the knowledge of life, or we can say in a better way, the science of life.Deep breathing: Breathing shallow reduces the quantity of life-supporting prana you receive with each breath. Practice deep breathing consciously until it becomes a habit.
Sleep: It is important to get an adequate amount of good-quality sleep each night to replenish energy levels and to give the self-defense mechanisms of the body the opportunity to purify the system. Make it a habit to go to bed before 10 p.m. and rise early.
Exercise: Exercise moderately everyday, choosing types of exercise that are appropriate for your body-type and needs for balance. Exercise in the mornings, and in the fresh air outdoors when you can.
Ayurveda provides both curative and preventive measures towards optimal physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
According to Ayurveda, you can achieve health through daily routine. A typical Ayurdedic routine might look like this:
- Rise with the sun.
- After emptying the bladder and bowels, one should meditate for 20-30 minutes and then exercise.
- Exercise should preferably be done early in the morning before the daily shower or bath.tal exercise.
